Account deletion

Delete your Grasroot account

Grasroot accounts belong to whoever signed in with that email or method — that person can request deletion at any time, in-app or through this page.

Option 1 — delete it yourself, right now, in the app

If you can sign in to the Grasroot app, this is the fastest option: open Settings and choose Delete Account. This immediately and permanently removes your sign-in identity — you will not be able to sign back in with it, and this cannot be undone.

This removes your ability to access the account. It does not, by itself, erase every piece of data linked to your account elsewhere in our systems (for example, past game results and Challenge history) — use the request below, or Option 2, if you also want that reviewed and removed.

Option 2 — request deletion here

Use this if you can't access the app, or want your linked data reviewed too. Here's what happens:

  1. You submit the form below with the email your account uses.
  2. We may contact you at that email to verify it's really you before acting on the request.
  3. Your account and the data tied to it — profile, game history, and Challenge history — are reviewed and removed, other than what we're required to keep (see below).
  4. We aim to complete this within 30 days of verification.

What we may retain: aggregate, de-identified statistics that no longer point back to you; records we're legally required to keep (e.g. for fraud prevention or dispute resolution); and, where a Challenge you created is still referenced by another player's own Challenge page, that record may be kept with your identifying information removed rather than deleted outright, so we don't break the other person's result.

Only want specific data removed, not your whole account? Use Data Deletion instead. See our Privacy page for more on what we collect and why.
